Useful tips to help you work...

Can I Keep My Laptop Battery in My Refrigerator?
Yes, but not the freezer! Keeping batteries cool will prolong their lives. Be sure to let your battery warm up before using it.

My Cell Phone Fell In Some Water - What Do I Do?
Retrieve it as fast as possible. Remove and dry the battery and the Sim card if it has one. Clean phone with denatured alcohol or rubbing alcohol to remove minerals. Gently dry the phone with a hair dryer and then place it in a container of uncooked rice overnight. For more info click here.

Vista's Built-In Screen Capture
Click "Start" and type "snipping" (without the quotes) into the search box. Click "Snipping Tool" in the list. Click "New." Click and drag your cursor over the area you want to copy. Release your mouse, the clip will appear in a new window. Click "Save" button.

Quick Way To Lock My Computer
Click the "Windows" and "L" key. This locks Windows until you unlock it. To unlock it, press Ctrl + Alt + Del. If you have a password, you'll need to enter it.

Speeding Up My FireFox Browser
FireFox caches pages for your "Back" button which slows it down going forward. Type about:config into the URL window. Scroll down until you find browser.sessionhistory.max_total_viewers Double click it and change -1 to 0. This makes new pages open faster but back button pages will open a little slower.

Calculate With Google
Need to do a quick mathematical calculation or conversion? Search the equation in Google and get the answer plus results containing the equation.

Access System Properties
Use the Windows and Pause/Break keys to bring up your computers System Properties. Helpful when you need to know what your operating system is, what service packs you've added, your CPU speed or amount of RAM you have.
