Comment:

I really can't speak too highly of this television. If you're looking for a TV that will bring home the movie theatre experience - this is it. You could spend thousands more for a smaller hang-on-the-wall set but that strikes me as a poor trade-off. If you have a room large enough then this 70" monster is the set for you.

Only 26" deep.

Unfortunately there are other expenses to consider. Because this Sony weighs over 200 pounds you'd better buy the in-home repair service contract. Approximate cost: $500.00. You will also need a TV stand to bring this set up to proper eye level. Approximate cost: $300.00. I would avoid the triangular Sony stand that is often shown with this set. It doesn't hold enough components. More than likely you will be connecting an audio receiver, DVD player, video game console, cable box, VCR player etc.

This Bush Edgewood stand works well.

I would also recommend hiring professional installers. Setting up a home theatre is more difficult then that computer system you're looking at. You'll want the color to be correct and the sound to surround you. You'll probably need help setting up your remote controls. Remember, you can't even lift this TV on your own.

Okay, so you've purchased the TV, the stand, the service contract and the professional installers, is there anything else?

Monster Cable Surge Protector
As a matter of fact there is. With this big an investment you'd better get a high quality surge protector for all this equipment. One misplaced lightening bolt and you could be out of the Super Bowl business.
