Comment:

Well it's a new year and it's time for a new mouse. I think Microsoft got it just right this time. Their optical wonder is smooth to move, shaped nicely for the hand, works on most any surface and isn't tethered to a cord. It is battery operated but it's just two AA's and they're supposed to last for six months. (Batteries are included!)

The tiltwheel has some new features.

         Tiltwheel
It smoother for scrolling vertically and it now scrolls horizontally. Horizontal scrolling is handy for some Web pages and spreadsheet applications. It's also useful for finding files when using Windows Explorer in the filmstrip mode. Another new feature enables you to program the wheel when it's clicked.

Program options for tiltwheel.
I set the wheel to "Copy" when clicked because of all the Website work I do. The other four buttons are also customizable. I use the two left side buttons to navigate forward and backward while browsing the Net.

So how do you plug in a wireless mouse? You don't. You plug in a "Smart Receiver." The receiver should be at least eight inches from the mouse and up to six feet away.

        How's the connection?
Should your battery run low or there is interference between the mouse and the receiver a message will let you know.

Should you decide to purchase this product you have a choice of colors: Metallic Grey, Metallic Blue, Black Leather, and Platinum.
