Comment:

You'll need a Webcam, microphone and a broadband connection to the Net. From there just follow these steps:

Step 1: At SightSpeed Web site enter your email and password.
Step 2: Enter personal info.
Step 3: Install the software.
Step 4: Use wizard to setup your camera and microphone.
Step 5: Contact someone with SightSpeed.

I setup SightSpeed on two computers. My work computer (Windows XP, DSL, Intel Webcam) and my home computer (Windows XP, cable, Logitech Webcam). I placed a "call" to my wife after adding her to my list of contacts. Her image came up immediately and looked pretty good. But as soon as she started to move it became pixelated. She told me I was pixelated as well.

We had to speak to each other using regular telephones because the SightSpeed audio wasn't functioning properly.

                          Using telephones for reliable audio.

I'd like to be able to recommend this product but there were too many disappointments. I would still suggest you try it because the setup is easy, your results may be better and it's free.

And worst comes to worst you can always videoconference with SightSpeed's fish tank!
