Comments:
As much as it pains me to write a positive review of a predatory monopolist's product, I must confess a real attraction to Microsoft's new mouse. You've probably already heard about the explorer. This thing-a-ma-bob has no trackball but uses some kind of optical sensor instead. You know what that means don't you? No clogged up mice. Plus, you can throw away your Pokemon mouse pad and use the "explorer" (they seem stuck on this name) right on your table top. We're talking the freedom to really move that mouse around!
But that's not all folks.

"Back" Button In Blue
|
Microsoft has added two more buttons on the mouse's left side.
Understand that all the buttons on the mouse can be set to accomplish various tasks, but the default for these new buttons is "back" and "forward". This is a nice addition for surfing the Net.

"Forward" Button In Blue
|
Having played with it for awhile I can honestly say the "back" button is easier to reach than the "forward" button.

Slipping
|
Also, using the mouse on a table top seems slippery. Pushing a button can also push the whole mouse. Attempts to hold the mouse still by pushing on the right side caused me to click the right side button. This in turn opened a menu I did not want.
Like any new toy it's going to take some getting used to. All in all I'd have to say Microsoft has built a better mouse trap. And I have apparently beaten a path to their door.
