Comment:
I've never been a big fan of screensavers. Today's screens don't need to be saved from burning and most screensavers are boring. But then I found the Virtual Aquarium and that changed my mind. Yes, it's $20 bucks but you can try the demo for free. Checking out the demo would be a good idea because this program requires a lot of processing and graphics power to run smoothly. Downloading the latest version of DirectX couldn't hurt either.

Cool Starfish
|
I have a freshwater aquarium at home and I'm tired of burying fish. Besides I've always wanted a saltwater tank but everyone said they were too maintinance intensive. So now I just set my screensaver to appear within five minutes and viola I've got the soothing sound of air bubbles and the realistic motion of exotic fishes. It creates a wonderful atmosphere that shouldn't be underestimated.

Aquarium Settings
|
Pressing your space bar while the aquarium is running opens the Settings window. From there you can adjust bubble volume, add lighting effects, pick the number and kinds of fish for your tank and more.
So, is Virtual Saltwater Aquarium 100% real? No, I'd say about 85-90%. The fish don't eat anything or chase each other around. But part of the fun in owning this software is knowing it's going to get even better. The creator says he's working on adding new fish and perhaps an octopus. Actually feeding the fish is another feature that's being looked into.

If you've got a PC that can handle it and you're into aquariums, I highly recommend this product. Go fish.
