Gotta split.

NAME and DOWNLOAD LINK: Splitter
DESCRIPTION: Divides
then reassembles large files.
SIZE: 36KB,
zipped.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Windows 9x, NT, 2000, ME.
COMMENT: You
probably still exchange files with others via floppy disks. But what if you have a picture, sound or video file
that's bigger than 1.44MB? Call in the Splitter.
You probably also share files using email. But what if your or
the recipient's ISP limits those file sizes - typically 500KB or smaller? Summon the Splitter.
And hardly anything could be easier. Start the

Split for a floppy.
|
program, locate the file to be split, tell the Splitter what size disk or file you want, then click "Split."
Almost instantaneously that large file is broken down into pieces
no larger than the biggest you want, then stored in the same folder as the original, along with the program to
reassemble the pieces. (Your original file is left intact.)
|

Split for email.
|
Copy the pieces to a set of disks or a series of email messages,
along with the program. (Splitter tries to make one of the pieces small enough so there's room to add that program
to the same disk or message.)
All the recipient has to do is save the pieces to a folder, open
the Splitter program, select any of the pieces, click "Unsplit." Presto! One fat file just like the original.
Splitter can take care of whole directories, including subdirectories,
and offers a drag-and-drop feature.
With today's digital camcorders and 5MB+ still cameras, sharing
huge files by disk means burning a CD. And sharing by email may be impossible -- unless you can make those file
sizes manageable.
It's free, it works, it's simple. Gotta get it.
