Sightspeed makes video calling simple. Once you've signed up and set up your Webcam, create a contact list of other SightSpeed users. You can now send and receive calls with a click of the mouse. Answer incoming calls by clicking on the pop-up alert. If no one is home to answer your call, leave them a video message. Want a more personal email experience, send a SightSpeed Video Mail. With only an email address you send anyone a video mail message. If you have a Webpage or blog easily add a short video clip. SightSpeed also has text messaging like an IM client. Send a text message or text chat with multiple SightSpeed user simultaneously. As a SightSpeed member you get your own My SightSpeed Web address for sending video calls to anyone as long as their using IE 6 or greater. All someone needs to do is type your address in their browser. If you accept the "call" you can then send them a live video message. (Not available yet for Mac users.) SightSpeed gives you the option to communicate with other users from around the world that have listed themselves in the SightSpeed Community. Search for people by country or language. Choose your own community name and password protect access for parental control. In addition to all of SightSpeed's features you can purchase a Phone IN/Phone Out calling plan for voice calls to any telephone or cell phone in the world. For $3.95 a month you get a local U.S. phone number, voice mail, and can receive unlimited calls. A small per minute rate is charged for outgoing calls. Maybe you'd prefer an 1-800 number for $1.00 a month and 2 cents a minute for incoming calls, outgoing rates also apply, but the voice mail is still free. Although SightSpeed offers these calling plans they're not for use with 911 or emergency calls.
