My Yahoo! Ticker lets you choose which feeds you want your ticker to display. You can import your My Yahoo! settings or as a Guest you can edit your news and stock choices without using a Yahoo! ID. You can also adjust ticker speed, info refresh rate, color scheme & font, QuickView news stories or have My Yahoo! Ticker run with your screen saver.

The Edit News button lets you pick which news topics to display, the number of stories for each topic and scrolls them in different colors for easy topic identification. You can also customize weather reports by zip codes.


The Edit Stocks button lets you pick which stocks you want displayed. Easily add and remove stocks from your ticker and find stock symbols using Yahoo! Finance Symbol Lookup right from the edit stocks preference by using the find button.

Customize Search Preferences to show results in QuickView, a small window in the lower right of your screen or in a new browser window. You can choose to have the search box automatically expand when typed in and shrink back when not in use. Search history can be saved or cleared and a shortcut can be set to jump to the search box from other programs.

Move and Resize My Yahoo! Ticker by unlocking taskbar and then click on and drag the dotted area to the left of the ticker.

Click the newspaper to Display the Ticker and click when the ticker is running to change topics. To return to the search box click the magnifying glass.


Display specific Yahoo! Search screens by clicking on the small down arrow to the right of the My Yahoo! Ticker. Searches screens can be display in Quickview or opened in a new browser window depending on which preference you've chosen. Also jump to My Yahoo! or Yahoo! Mail.

My Yahoo! Ticker is beta software, but it's based on a 1996 model Yahoo! has upgraded and reintroduced so it might only need a little tweaking. Yahoo! offers help at My Yahoo!
