COMMENT:
ieSpell installs as a new button on the Internet Explorer toolbar making it unobtrusive and convenient, not to mention fast. It is mostly useful if you do a lot of web-based text entry. It works in email, message boards, forums, online diaries and more. Unfortunately it is only for Internet Explorer and not other web browsers.
ieSpell works much like Microsoft Word spell check where after entering some text, you simply click on the button in the IE toolbar and another window opens. The window tells you which words have been misspelled and gives you a list of suggestions from which to choose. ieSpell gives you the option to add words to the dictionary, as well as create custom dictionaries. These dictionaries can then be shared with Microsoft Word as well! A new feature is an online look up for words in the suggestion list if you would like to know the definitions.
ieSpell window and suggestion list.
In addition, ieSpell allows you to choose to ignore URLs, email addresses and other text that would normally appear misspelled to a computer. It stores your own personal word lists across all applications so you don't have to add unusual words to each application separately. (This is especially nice if you have an uncommon name!) However, unlike MS Word, ieSpell does not help with grammar mistakes.
Unfortunately ieSpell is only for personal use; businesses must buy the commercial license from the website.
