Read your Email as it arrives. Google Desktop Sidebar supports Gmail, Outlook 2000+, Outlook Express 5+, Netscape Mail 7.1+, Mozilla Mail 1.4+ and Thunderbird and can be set to show only the emails you want.
Use the Quick View for easy access to frequently or recently viewed webpages and files.
Search the Web and your computer by using the Google Desktop search box right from the Sidebar.
Google Desktop lets you launch applications and search your desktop by using the Sidebar, the Deskbar or Floating Deskbar. 
The Deskbar is located in your taskbar.
 The Floating Deskbar can be dragged anywhere and will float above all windows. Quick Find display condensed results. Just click to launch an application or to expand the results.

Google Desktop searches your personal index and Google's web index separately and displays combined results.
