A Powerful Screen-Capture Utility NAME and DOWNLOAD LINK: FastStone Capture Version 5.3 DESCRIPTION: Capture anything on your monitor including windows, objects, full screen, rectangle regions, freehand-selected regions and scrolling Web pages. SIZE: 1.3MB MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Windows 98SE, ME, NT, 2000, XP, Vista COMMENT: Note: There are newer versions of FastStone Capture but you will have to pay for them after a 30 day trial. Version 5.3 is freeware.
When you open FastStone Capture the little window with eight small icons (see above) stays on top of whatever page you have open. You then have the choice of how and what you want to capture. It could be just an active window, the full page, or you can actually capture a page that needs to be scrolled for complete viewing. Once you capture something FastStone displays your capture and allows you to manipulate it in a new window. You can draw on the image, add a caption, add an edge like a drop shadow, resize it, email it or print it. Naturally you can save it as well. I'd be happy to show you this FastStone screenshot but the irony is FastStone won't capture itself and it won't let me use the "Print Screen" button either. Nevertheless, it's all very straightforward. Have fun. |
